About
My name is Nma, and I'm the creator of Barefoot Feature. I started wearing barefoot shoes in the autumn of 2020, and haven't looked back, or rather, I haven't been able to go back— and I've tried. I used to be something of a sneakerhead. I loved all my shoes. They were beautiful. Most barefoot shoes are... not beautiful, but they're so comfortable I'll never go back to traditional shoes.
As a barefoot shoe truther, I believe barefoot shoes are the best kind of footwear, everyone should be wearing them (or at least somewhat more anatomy-friendly shoes), and soon everyone else will believe it too and then there there will be a paradigm shift in popular footwear design because the barefoot shoe brands will start taking too much market share from the Big Shoe brands so they'll start designing their own anatomy-friendly shoes.
But I digress.
As a former sneakerhead, all I want is for barefoot shoes' aesthetics to catch up with traditional footwear's, and I think others would agree. Over these last four years, though, I've watched barefoot shoes become better and better looking. This blog aims to document that trajectory by
- featuring barefoot shoe brands and models that are advancing the aesthetics of barefoot shoes.
- highlighting models from traditional shoe brands that incorporate barefoot shoe features.
I hope Barefoot Feature can be a space for style-minded people to get excited about barefoot shoes and serve as a reference to guide their barefoot shoe shopping.
